Wow, beautiful artwork 🥰 I seriously don't know why RUclipsis suggesting this right now, but I absolutely loved watching it. Haven't done any sumi painting yet, but it's on my bucket list of art styles and artsy things I'd love to learn how to do. Would have thought that that light and shadow effect was achieved by layering - and really surprised that it was done in with single strokes. Such an enjoyable and informative video. A big ありがとうto the wonderful land of the rising sun for sharing this with us. And a big and hearty "Stay safe and healthy" to anyone who might read this little post here 😊
Wspaniałe. Jaka precyzja wykonania! Jedno pociągnięcie pędzlem i takie wspaniałe efekty! A ten wspaniały pędzel! Sama maluję i mieć taki pędzel to marzenie!! Gdyby w Polsce ktoś organizował by warsztaty gdzie można by się nauczyć tej techniki była bym z radością się uczyła. Pozdrawiam
美丽 what makes this vid' superior to 99% of other sumi tutorials (IMO) is how the artist actually shows us how he loads his brush with differing shades of ink, and of course, his skill in wielding it :)
It's so beautiful! I got into painting recently and I love this tutorial. It's so satisfying to see you paint. You're very talented.🙂👍👍 The crazy thing is, I just learned about Chinese paintings in an English lesson. RUclips recommended this to me at the right time. 😁😁
It is amazing what could be achieved just by one color... combinations of hardness and softness in the brush strokes provide rich multiple shades that give depth to a seemingly two dimensional art
Domou arigatou gozaimasu, Kobayashi-san! Amazing that you have created this beautiful painting during such a short time. Thank you very much for sharing!
Lovely & almost meditative to observe the process. I was looking for Chiura Obata docs & happily (not to mention appropriately) your video was in the list. ~Cheers
Johnny Au Life has been too good to them to the point that they’ve failed to realize that Life and talent are gifts. Failing to appreciate one’s own gifts, those people become envious of the gifts of others. It’s kinda sad isn’t it.
its sooooo amazing , and thanks for show how to mix water and color , many video do not show it , can i know please what kind of paper did you used for it ?
For the earlier part, the stroke style (for both the branch and the leaves) is a bit different from the Chinese one (more calligraphy based)I learned. More painting like. Very beautiful.
I cannot manage to load the brush that way. I don't know whether it is because of the brush, the quality of the ink or my lack of ability. I understand one soaks the whole brush in the watered ink and just the tip with a more "pure" ink. Is this so? Any advice would come handy!! Thanks!!
+ThatGuyOnTV564 Yes, but one must be able to understand color mixing / blending using the correct brush type, not all that hard with a little practice and patients. Search for Oriental decals or stencils / Japanese. I'm sure you will find them. You will be surprised how much you can do. Notice that the little she did looks like a lot more when done. Don't over do it simplicity is the desired effect, as your eyes will seem to see more than is there. Good luck.

Thank you so much! I don't draw, but I tried this today and it actually came out kind of pretty.
I have a question, I want to paint something like this on my door, would it be possible to do a painting like that without water color?
+ThatGuyOnTV564
Yes, but one must be able to understand color mixing / blending using the correct brush type, not all that hard with a little practice and patients.

A wooden door that is not painted.
A matte white painted door.
You will find it easier to draw Suni-e.
Challenge other doors with acrylic paint.
Nice video ❤️👍amazing❤️❤️❤️👍👍🙂👍👍
Merci
I love this!! Absolutely beautiful
